Hesitant about blogging? Don’t be. Research show that nearly 40% of US companies use blogs for marketing purposes.  Companies that blog also have 55% more website visitors. Those are impressive numbers that speak for themselves. Blogging is now a critical part of a marketing plan and should be part of your marketing portfolio for the next year.

But crucial to your blog is what you blog about. Blogs are not a showcase for your products, but rather an opportunity to display your expertise in an area. Examples, case studies, expert opinion will help established your knowledge in a given area. But along with that is your audience. Make sure you are writing to your target audience. You know who your products reach, so make sure your blog and your expertise is reaching that audience.

Lastly, a good blog is a continuous effort. Three blogs doesn’t make you an expert. Load your blog with 20, 30, 40 or more blogs and then promote your blog as the source to go to for expert advice.
